March 2010

Mar 8th

  • Fixed Andrews Pitchfork bug introduced in Mar 5th version wherein not all lines would show.

Mar 5th

  • Fixed custom symbols for the DTN satellite data feed.

Mar 4th

  • Released new EDS for the TransAct Futures feed to handle a change in the routing to the TA feed servers.
  • Fixed the IQFeed wherein use of the Options page would cause an accumulation to the symbol count that would not shrink back to an original count when the Option page was closed.

Mar 3rd

  • Fixed DTN satellite and IQFeed to leave unchanged the 202x decade symbols. Example: NQH20 will use the two digit year of '20'. NGH10 will show in Ensign as NGH0.

Mar 1st

  • Implemented code to handle the DTN satellite wherein Futures and Future Option symbols will include a decade digit. The change should be transparent to the end user. Users will continue to use the existing single digit year such as @ES0H.
  • Implemented refresh of Weekly and Monthly charts using the TraderBytes vendor source.
  • Added Percent Bands option to the VWAP study to calculate bands based on percent of price instead of on standard deviation.
  • Changed the EDS for TransAct futures to receive a data feed without the need for the Order Entry platform to be running.

February 2010

Feb 8th

  • Fixed the E-mail form tabs not saving the lists of e-mail addresses. Recent bug introduced in Feb versions.
  • Fixed the download of daily data from the 1st Internet Source for Indexes. Recent bug introduced in Feb versions.
  • Added optional parameter to select the E-mail tab list using the ESPL EmailForm statement.
  • Fixed using DTN Market Access source to refresh IQFeed for @JYH0 to remember the Price Adjust of *100.

Feb 2nd

  • Price Alerts, Study Alerts, Price Action Study, Daily Price Lines, and Alarmed Draw Tools can e-mail alert messages. read more »
  • Added DYO statements to the Global Action category to e-mail messages, label text, charts, and workspace screen captures.
  • The Scheduler can e-mail messages and a workspace screen capture.
  • The ESPL langauge can add to the message content or attach chart images to the new e-mail feature.
  • Added DYO Chart Flag selections of First Bar of 1st Session, First Bar of 2nd Session, First Bar of Either Session, and First Bar of New Trade Day.
  • Added ESPL statements Remove(eCircle) and Remove(eRectangle) to remove draw tools of that type because Remove(eLine) removes all lines.
  • Improved the connection process for IQFeed to reliably connect large symbol lists containing over 500 symbols.

January 2010

Jan 28th

  • Implemented code to handle the Options Symbology change coming to all vendor feeds. eSignal, Interactive Brokers, and IQFeed changed Feb 1st. read more »
  • Implemented code to handle the IQFeed transition on Mar 1st wherein Futures and Future Option symbols will include a decade digit. read more »
  • Fixed the Floating Point Error generated by some Daily Price Lines which would cause the DPL to blink in the margin.
  • The TraderBytes TDS program has been updated with a few minor changes. TraderBytes users should upgrade to have the latest TDS.
  • Fixed the custom symbols updating from both FormT quotes and regular quotes during after market hours.
  • Fixed the DTN satellite cross reference symbols ending in # for getting data from DTN Market Access.
  • Added filter on tick database extraction for building tick based bars.
  • Fixed the DYO statements for Chart Value | Current # Bar High, Low, Last which were including in the set size 1 extra bar.

Jan 12th

  • Updated exchange group for IQFeed indexes like SPX.XO and OEX.XO.
  • The IB feed sends a -1 for forex options after markets close. Ensign will prevent this from setting the Last and Low on the quote pages and charts.
  • Made backup on exit an option on the Setup | Charts form. And do backups into Sunday through Saturday sub-folders for each day of the week.
  • Added 8 tabs to the Workspace panel so workspace files can be better organized similar to the Template panel which has 8 tabs.
  • Fixed an ESPL issue introduced in the Dec 26th version due to having an application message processing statement inside the ESPL processor.
  • Updated the Bradley daily file to include data through 2014.

December 2009

  • Fixed the IQFeed getting in a mode where the daily High and Low values are at the same price as the Last price.
  • Auto back up key folders such as Workspace and Templates upon program exit. All should upgrade to have this feature.
  • Fixed the Beep that a DYO doing Section messages was making with every tick.
  • The Ensign Remote Support client has Voice over the Internet so Ensign's staff can talk with you while doing remote support.
  • Fixed the Pesavento Patterns and Auto Trends when they have the Auto Min Size option enabled failing to initially calculate with a Min Size when opened by a workspace.
  • Fixed the ability to set the Price Adjustment factor for DTN refresh when using the TransAct and TraderBytes feed symbols.
  • Fixed for the IB feed so that Pink sheet and OTCBB stocks could be received. On the Symbol Properties for these stocks, select SMART for the Exchange.
  • Improved the File | File Manager | Import ASCII Data to support importing daily data between 1900 and 1930.

November 2009

  • Added a form to help new Trial users and current Subscribers register a new installation of Ensign Windows.
  • Added a tab on the Internet Services form to help new users learn how to use Ensign Windows.
  • Added a form that is shown to users who are expired, encouraging them to Start a Subscription or to contact Ensign.
  • Implemented Day Light Savings schedule for 2010.
  • Improved on reducing the CPU burden when conflicting chart objects simultaneously change the panel's background color.
  • Improved on the horizontal width of the Price Histogram that is partially off the left edge of the chart.
  • Increased the width of the Custom Symbols form to show longer symbols in the edit boxes.

October 2009

  • Added feature on Setup | Images to have the path for the Hard Disk use yyyy-mm-dd in the path name which will be resolved to today's date to create a new folder each day where images are saved. Example path: C:\Ensign\Images\yyyy-mm-dd
  • Added DYO statement Chart Value | Minutes in Day Session / # to return a minute count or a bar count for a session.
  • Added a button on the Setup | Manager form to erase symbols tagged with >>> after doing a Check Symbols.
  • Implemented the Study Scale selections for the Overlay study.
  • Improved the eChat program to display longer warning messages.
  • Improved IQFeed options form where entering a new option that lacks the host future's security will fetch the future and fill in the options form.

September 2009

  • Added a set of DYO Global Flags for bar values being between Value and Value+#.
  • Added DYO Study Flags for Heikin-Ashi of HA Open = HA High, and HA Open = HA Low. Useful in flagging a trend.
  • Increased the number of days extracted from the tick database to create a new Volume chart.
  • Improved the D:T marker used on the left side of the Daily Price Lines to show the timestamp of the line's origin when off the chart.
  • Improved on maintaining a margin set by dragging background leftward though the Redraw Chart option is checked.
  • Added a ProcessMessages statement inside the Playback routine so program would have control even at maximum playback speed.
  • Updated the Symbol Properties installation file to include more symbols and updated market hours for metals, energies, e-mini meats, and $NIFTY-NSE.
  • Added check box option on the Setup | Charts | Keyboard form to make CTRL+ALT+W apply to all charts. This hot key hides/shows study sub-windows.

  • Changed the price format for IQFeed @JE futures symbol to be similar to @JY, which is 1.xxxxx format.
  • Added an exclude list to the TraderBytes EDS to keep TraderBytes symbols from conflicting with Ninja Trader symbols.
  • Added optional UserID and Password for authentication of e-mail sent via the Internet Services form. Some e-mail hosts require authentication.
  • Added UserID and Password to the ESPL statements for EmailForm and Email. Existing scripts using the Email statement will require an edit to insert empty strings for UserID and Password after the SenderAddress parameter.
  • The symbol lists, quote pages, and workspace example installed for a new user will be specific to the vendor feed selected during installation.
  • The Symbol Properties table will support entries specific to a vendor feed where price formats differ from the default.
  • The chart pop-up menu for Show | Studies will be remembered in and restored by a workspace.
  • For the eSignal refresh for London stocks, the menu Refresh | Maximum will get data from 1996 to now.
  • Force the minimum tick interval for Live Hogs to be 0.025 for the benefit of building Range charts.
  • Fixed editing of Market Hour timestamps which are entered in European format with a decimal, ie. hh.mm.
  • Added a button on the chat form to run the Ensign Remote Support client application.
  • Added chart property check box for Don't Fill Candle Body so that candles can be drawn with only an outline.
  • Added Color Band Position selections to the Pesavento Patterns study to relocate the Up and Down Trend lines and their markers.
  • Changes made to the Trade Accounts are written immediately to the hard disk file.
  • Toggling the Big Cross off with CTRL+C will return the cursor type to the previously used Arrow or small Cross.
  • Fixed the EDS for the TraderBytes feed to handle Regional Settings which use a price format of $123.456,78.
  • Added menu View | Reset to Defaults to place toolbars in a predefined 2 row standardized arrangement.
  • The quote page pop-up menu for Sort | Alphabetical will be a mode now so when checked, new symbols added will be sorted.

August 2009

  • Added 38% and 62% of daily range markers to the Price Histogram study.
  • Added code to get the USDJPY.FXCM symbol from IQFeed into the Cash market group.
  • Added Price Adjust selection of *1000000 for use by TransAct symbol =6J in adjusting the refresh from DTN Market Access.
