IQFeed Version 4.3.0.3

DTN has released an upgrade of their IQFeed software to version 4.3.0.3.  This version can be downloaded from the Download page of Ensign's web site.  The current version of Ensign Windows supports the new features in IQFeed 4.3.0.3 such as seconds in the time stamps.  Upgrade both Ensign Windows and IQFeed at the same time.

IQFeed Download Instructions:

  • You will need to download and install both the IQFeed software and Ensign Windows.
  • Click the IQFeed link on the Download page to start the download.
  • The browser will ask 'Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer?'
  • Click the 'Open' button.  The download will proceed.
  • When the download is finished, the installation will start.  Proceed through the installation.
  • Warning:   The IQFeed application MUST be installed in folder  C:\Program Files\DTN\IQFeed
  • When Ensign Windows runs, it will automatically start the IQFeed software.
  • The first time IQFeed runs you will have to enter your IQFeed account and password.
  • If you are installing an upgrade of IQFeed, please uninstall the older IQFeed version first.

  • Q:  What is the difference between IQFeed and DTN.IQ?
    A:  IQFeed is the name for the Internet streaming data feed from DTN.
         DTN.IQ is the name for DTN's charting software that uses (includes) the IQFeed.
  • Q:  So, should I subscribe to IQFeed or to the DTN.IQ?   I am confused.
    A:  Sorry for the confusion.  A subscription to either one will give you the IQFeed that is the
          data feed for Ensign Windows.  Decide which offer is the best price for you.
  • Q:  What is the total cost if I want just real-time data for the Emini contract?
    A:  $55 IQFeed + $20 real-time Futures + $15 Emini exchange fees + $39.95 Ensign Windows.

  • Q:  If I already have a DTN.IQ subscription can I just add Ensign Windows?
    A:  Yes.  You still need to install the IQFeed.exe download from Ensign's web site.
          When the IQFeed program starts you can enter your DTN.IQ account and password.
          DTN.IQ and Ensign Windows cannot run simultaneously, however.
  • Q:  What do I need to do to get everything set up?
    A:  Click the link given above to sign up for the IQFeed  --  or  -- sign up for DTN.IQ.
          DTN will give you an account number and a password.
          Go to the bottom of this page.  Download and install the IQFeed program. 
          Then, download, install, and run the Ensign Windows version for the IQFeed.
          When Ensign runs, it will automatically start up the IQFeed software.  You will need to enter
          your DTN account number and password to log on to the data feed the first time.
  • Q:  Is there a free trial from DTN and from Ensign Software?
    A:  Yes.  You can use the IQFeed and Ensign Windows free for 1 week.
          The details about DTN's free trial period are given when you establish an account.
  • Q:  Are there any problems with Ensign Windows running with the IQFeed?
    A:  No.  Be sure to use the latest version of Ensign Windows and IQFeed.exe. 
  • Q:  If I have another version of Ensign Windows, where do I install the IQFeed version?
    A:  Install Ensign Windows in the same C:\Ensign folder.   The IQFeed version will replace your
         other version.  Your workspaces, templates, and studies will be retained.  The futures and
         index symbols use a different format, so you will have to fix your workspaces.
  • Q:  What is the IQFeed symbol for the e-mini and the Dow Jones Industrial index?
    A:  @ESU7 and  INDU.X 
  • Q:  What is the symbol limit for the IQFeed?
    A:  1500 symbols can be watched simultaneously.  Ensign automatically adds and removes the
         options chain symbols from the watch list as the options page is opened and closed.
